Have just tried this as I thought there must be a way of linking files to events and hey presto, here it is. I have Lion. When I click on the link in iCal it takes me to the file on my system bust doesn't open it. Will follow your blog from now on.

Cheers!

In Lion, when I drag the URL into iCal and want to click on the created event, it does not take me to the ULRS location... Maybe it works only in Leopard?

Just, wow! I'd tinkered with the URL field off and on when creating new to-do items in iCal, but never really wholeheartedly. I stumbled across this post tonight and all I can say is thank you! Keep up the good work on your blog, I look forward to seeing more!

You can also drag the file itself to the url box in iCal.

Problem I have found is that with file iCal on Snow Leopard only shows the file in the Finder, it does not open it. In Leopard it opens it.

If you know of a way to fix this I would be very grateful!
