There isn’t an obvious way to add sites to Safari 4 Beta’s new Top Sites page, but this is a Mac after all, so it occurred to me that drag and drop might work, and it does:

After downloading something, I usually want to go to my downloads folder. I’ve discovered recently that you can put folders into your Safari bookmarks bar. This means that instead of having to click on my downloads folder in the dock, I can simply hit a Keyboard Shortcut and it will open up the Downloads folder in Finder.

Have you ever wanted to see what one of the iPhone only websites look like? With Safari you can. First, you will need to use Safari in the Developer mode. As of Safari 3.1, double-clicking on a free area in the tab bar opens a new tab. I’ve wanted this feature since it was introduced in Firefox, and now my favorite browser has it, too.

The one customization I can not live with out is the plug-in called Tab Mix Plus. There are so many things you can do with this plu-in that i would have to spen a week typeing to tell you about them all. The big on for me is “Force to open new tab” and set that to “links to other sites” and then I enable Single Window Mode.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve accidentally hit command-Q while in Safari and lost tons of important tabs…. TabStop is a handy utility that causes Safari to warn you before closing a browser window if it includes multiple tabs, so you’ll no longer lose those tabbed sites by mistake.
