Change the Quote Level In Mail

If you need to change the quote level in a message from Mail.app use the Command and Option keys. To lower the quote level press Option-Command-’ (thats the apostrophe). To raise the level just use Command – ‘ As Mac tips.org says a good way to remember this is to “remember that you are simply pressing Command and the button you use to signify quotes in general text.”

Shortcuts for mailboxes in Mail

Did you know that you can use some keyboard shortcuts in Mail to navigate from Mailbox to Mailbox? The order you have them listed on the side bar is will correlate to which Command + number you need to use, for me the List is:

Command – 1: Inbox
Command – 2: Outbox
Command – 3: Drafts
Command – 4: Sent
Command – 5: Trash
Command – 6: Junk
Command – 7: Notes
Command – 8: To-Do

Reader Question: How Do I Make A Distribution List in Mail?

I received a question from a reader today asking me how to set up a distribution list like he had on his Windows machine with Outlook. My response to his was this:

Make sure that you have an Address card in Address Book for each of the people you want on the list.
Create a New Group by selecting the “+” button under the Group area.
Name the Group like you did in Outlook.

Organizing threads in Mail!

Do you want to have your Mail.app to organize your conversations like gmail? If so its a very easy thing to toggle on and off. All you have to do is:

Right-click in the toolbar.
Choose “Customize Toolbar…”.
Add the “Threads” button.When you click on it, you inbox will automatically adjust, sorting everything by conversation.
Clicking on the blue arrow at the left of a message (a message that contains many more) will let you see every email in the thread.

Did you know that in leopard new Maill.app that if you put a link in the subject line it is clickable for the reader? As is stated on “The Apple Blog” they have never notice this themselves and I can say i have not either. Give it a try next time you are sending a friend and e-mail for a cool site you may have found.
