Create Easy ‘Tracking’ Apps For iPhone Via Google Docs

I have found another great tip for you iPhone users over at Mac OSX Hints. The author tells us how we can create small web apps tracing times such as a gas mileage log or as one commenter stated a Blood Glucose Reading chart.

Since I've had my iPhone, I've found a few things that I wish I could do with it. I wished that I had a fuel-economy tracker app for my car, an expense tracker for work-expenses and others. I knew I could've set-up a custom web-page backed with a database, but it just seemed that there should be an easier way.
It seems Google thought so too, as they've just released [...]

Sync iPhone Contacts And Calendars Without iTunes

I found this great tip over at Mac OSX Hints for iphone users.

I have a laptop and use an external hard drive for my iTunes library. This system works well for me, except sometimes I found myself frustrated that I couldn't update my contacts and calendars on my iPhone while I was on the go. When I'm away from the external hard drive, iTunes complains.
I recently discovered that if my iPhone is charging over USB, using the Sync system menu (chasing arrows in the upper right corner of the screen) on 10.5 syncs my iPhone to iCal and Address Book. This is great! Now I don't have to launch [...]

Is Spotlight Indexing Your Time Machine Drive?

I am not sure about you, when I use Spotlight to launch my applications I am getting Duplicates from My Time Machine Drive as well as my Super-duper Cloned Drive. This only happened when my MacBook is connected to the external Dives I use for this, but it is still very frustrating. To make sure This does not happen to me I followed the instructions I found over at A New Mac Tip Every Day.

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Choose Spotlight.
  3. Click on the Privacy tab.
  4. Click on the "+".
  5. Navigate to your backup disk and find the folder called "Backups.backupdb".
  6. Click "Choose".
  7. That's [...]

iWebSites – Create Distinct Websites In iWeb

I have found a nice little piece if software that will allow you to manage Multiple iWeb sites via the ability to have more than one domain file. There have been a few different applications that have done this but they are overpriced in my option. The application I am presenting to you today is iWebSites. The best part is it is Donation ware. (Please if you like the software make a donation to the starving programmers who made this nice piece of software) The way it works is it allows you to open each site as a different .domain file which is how iWeb stores your sites.

Thanks to Cool [...]

Make Illustrator Files Work with Quick Look

I use Illustrator all day everyday and wanted to make all the files I save out to be able to be viewed in the Best new Feature of Leopad, Quick Look". It is very easy to do all you need to do is download illust.qlgenerator.zip and unzip it to a convenient location. You then need to move it to the Quicklook folder in the Library. Mine was in the Main Drive / Library / Quicklook You may also find it in / Users / YOURUSERNAME / Library / QuickLook. It worked for me out of the box but it may require a restart to work well.

Have TextEdit Auto-Save

This may be something everyone who is an avid TextEdit user already knows but it is new to me and I have not seen it anywhere on the mac web sites. Go to TextEdit's preferences and select the Open and Save side of the dialog box about 1/4 of the way down you will see the preference to have the files autosaved every so often well for me i am going to pick every 30 seconds. Give this a shot and let me now how it works for you.
